A Program for Teams Supporting Students with Complex Needs
Staff in pastoral care, inclusion, and wellbeing roles carry some of the highest emotional loads in a school. They’re often the first to absorb student distress, family complexity, and behavioural escalation — leaving them vulnerable to vicarious trauma and chronic stress.
This program provides targeted, evidence‑informed support tailored to the realities of these high‑support roles, helping staff strengthen emotional regulation, reduce overwhelm, and sustain their capacity to care for others.
The program includes:
A two‑term partnership that blends relational support and practical learning for staff navigating complex student needs and high‑support responsibilities.
Reflective coaching for each member of the team to process emotional load, build clarity, and strengthen sustainable practice
Nervous system awareness training that deepens self‑awareness and teaches staff how to complete the stress response cycle, reducing the cumulative impact of high‑intensity work.
Access to practical resources, reflection tools, and regulation strategies designed to strengthen co‑regulation and support steady, relational responses in complex situations.
Ongoing support throughout the term to help staff navigate emerging challenges and apply regulation and reflective practice in real time.
A program that builds the wellbeing and regulation capacity of those supporting students with the greatest needs.
